An aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has spoken on the allegation that he is working for a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bolaji Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

Ogunbiyi also denied having a link with President Muhammadu Buhari.

The PDP aspirant pointed out that Buhari and Tinubu belong to a different political platform.

In a statement made available to reporters by his Director of campaign directorate, Olalere Fagbola, on Sunday, Ogunbiyi described the claim as the handiwork of opponents who were “afraid of the overwhelming support” he was enjoying in the governorship race.

He added, “Since the political neophyte story failed to fly, the mischief – makers invented the Buhari/Tinubu sponsorship tale.

“Meanwhile, my choice of the PDP as a platform to actualise my dream is informed by my perception of it as the best party and a viable vehicle to deepen democracy in Nigeria.

“So it is inconceivable for anyone to imagine that I would work against the party which success story I have been part of.

“As a firm believer and a man of strong conviction in my mission to usher in good things of life for the people, no amount of blackmail and character assassination will deter me from my resolve to put Osun State on the front burner of economic recovery.”
